About routes and the system

Hey everyone! Today I’m going to tell you about our crew system and how we add routes to the database.

As some of you might know, right now we have 6250 schedules in our system for our pilots to choose from. That’s actually pretty impressive, compared to other smaller airlines. However, such a huge number makes our website a bit slow when it comes to choosing a schedule as the server searches for the flight based on your criteria. We even had to change a server as our old one was not capable of that 😜

Our crew system is a fully customised platform which is run using VABase engine. It is highly reliable, although requires a lot of coding to be done for it to be stylish and properly functioning. As some of you might remember, in the past we used both phpVMS versions 3 and 7. Version 3 was left in the past when the newer version was released. However, version 7 didn’t satisfy us at all as it was very laggy when it came to using it on small resolution devices 🀳. Also, we were not able to customise it properly so it was not really representing us. We have received feedback from our pilots and immediately started looking for an alternative. VABase was the best one on the market, although it still restricts us in a way.

For a Virtual Airline based on Infinite Flight Simulator it is very hard to find good software to use, as most systems are designed to be used with PC simulator, such as X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator XπŸ›«, and which support various add-ons like SIM ACARS.

Right now we have our very own dedicated hosting on which our crew system is located. A quick spoiler: a registration will only be approved if you have applied through our official form πŸ˜‰

Thanks everyone for spending a couple of minutes to read this blog post! We really do hope that you’ve enjoyed it. Don’t forget to like this post and leave a comment! See you all in the infinite skies β™ΎοΈπŸŒ€οΈ
